5 Daily Habits to Experience Spiritual Growth + Word for 2021

Have you been struggling with growing spiritually?

Do you feel like your at a standstill and you don't really know where to turn?

Like you're just going through the motions of life without having any sense of purpose?

Trust me girl....I've been there

In this episode I go into my word for 2021 and I also provide 5 daily habits to experience spiritual growth and uncover the truth that God is speaking over your life.

First I just want to say a quick prayer with you guys....Lord I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. I pray that you open up our eyes to see the truth of your words, you open up our mind, our heart, our ears, and our soul to you. Lord I pray that in every aspect of our life that you guide us, protect us and give us knowledge, wisdom, strength, peace, and everything that we need to get through each day. I pray that you open up our hearts to your love and to spreading that love and light to others. I love you with my whole heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Alright so last week I went into the reflection on 2020. I went over some things that happened that I didn't expect in 2020 and then I also went over some great things that happened in 2020. So if you haven't checked out that episode go check that out first, because I had a practice in there that I wanted you guys to do along with me to get rid of the negative and make space for the positive.

Today I'm going to be revealing my word for 2021, which you may have already guessed it, but my word for 2021 is growth. I experienced so much growth in 2020 when it comes to my relationship with Christ and just me as a person, I have grown so much in the past year, but there's always room for more growth. I feel like 2021 is just a perfect year to continue to grow.

Here's a few things that I wrote down on the aspects of my life that I want to see growth:

1. Faith

-Even though I grew in my faith so much last year, I know I still have so much more growth to do in my faith.

-This is a big thing that I'm going to be working on this year is growing my faith.

2. My podcast and making an impact in other people's lives

-I want to grow my podcast for the sole purpose of spreading love and light to others, teaching others the truth of God's words, and making an impact in as many people's lives as I possibly can.

-The more people that I can reach with this podcast, the more people that I can potentially make an impact in their life and let them know about Jesus, the truth of God's words and love, light, and the gospel.

-So that's one thing I'm really going to be focusing on in 2021 is just getting my podcast out to as many people as possible so that I may potentially make an impact in their life and help them get closer God or know the truth of God's words.

3. My trust

-More specifically, my trust in God.

-I've had a lot of things happen in my life that has made it very hard for me to trust people and to just trust in general.

-All throughout 2020 I've really had to put my trust in the Lord, but it's not always easy. It's something that I'm constantly having to work on because it's hard for me to trust and I have that guard up.

-So in 2021 I really want to focus on growing in my trust in the Lord and knowing that I can trust him completely no matter what. There's no limitations to the trust that I should have in the Lord because he has my best intentions at heart, he's the almighty, he's got me, he's full of love, mercy, and grace and there's no reason at all that I shouldn't put my full and complete trust in him.

So those are just a few things that I want to really work on in 2021 when it comes to growth. There's other things also but I didn't want to spend too much time getting into all the different aspects of my life that I want to see growth because I do have five daily habits for you guys to help you to experience spiritual growth. So I'm just going to go ahead and get straight into these five daily habits. Get a piece of paper and a pen or the notes on your phone, however you want to do it, but you're going to want to write these things down.

Five daily habits to experience spiritual growth:

1. Always put God first

-So every single day you want to make a habit to put God first.

-How can you do that? One way you can do that is by intentionally praying to him every single morning.

-I always pray to him in the morning and thank him for everything he's done

-Before I make any decision or before I do anything I pray to God, I submit to him fully, or I at least try every single day to submit to him fully, and that's the way that you can put him first.

-It's just always having him in the forefront of your mind, your life, and every single aspect every day.

2. Reading or doing a daily devotional

-Daily devotionals are specific spiritual readings for each day.

-You may have a devotional that you already do every day or you can look up different devotionals.

-I'm reading a devotional called "A journey with God. For women." It has a scripture for the day and then it also just goes into some stuff and it usually has a prayer at the end for you to pray.

-I make sure that I do this every single day.

-There's also a few other things that I do with my spiritual readings and devotionals. I journal a lot and all of that, but in order to really experience spiritual growth, you want to make it a habit to do a daily devotional every single day.

3. Expressing gratitude

-You can do this in many ways to express gratitude to the Lord.

-I always thank him every morning for waking me up and for everything he's done.

-Also during my morning routine with my Bible studies and all that I journal and thank him for every single thing he's done in detail.

-Whenever you have little wins, big wins, or when something goes your way or maybe something didn't go your way but you know it was for the best you can express gratitude to the Lord and just thank him for everything he's done and that's really going to help to experience spiritual growth.

4. Spiritual development

-Now I know I went into daily devotional for number two but what I'm speaking of on spiritual development is different than the daily devotional.

-So it can be a podcast, a book, a Bible study, or however you want to do that with a spiritual development, but you want to make a habit every single day to spend some time on spiritual development and really just soaking up all the love, light, and truth that you can.

-I have a few different things that I do with my spiritual development. Sometimes I listen to a podcast. I also have an app on my phone called the "Holy Bible" app and there's different plans on there that I like to do every single day.

-Also listening to my podcast or reading this blog is a way for you to experience spiritual growth because I'm always helping you guys with your God led journey.

-I have Bible studies on my podcast if you want to check those out and I have so many different episodes that are all specifically for spiritual development so you can check out any of those episodes and that'll help you with your spiritual growth and spiritual development.

5. Talking to God

-I specifically didn't say pray because a lot of times people think prayer is formal and that you just submit your requests to God and wait for him to do what you've asked him to do, but what I want you guys to make a daily habit of is much more personal and intentional than just prayer or submitting your requests to God.

-I want you to make a daily habit to talk with God, ask him to speak to you, have that personal talk with him, let him reveal his truth to you and the things that he wants to speak over your life.

-God has things that he wants to say to you but if you're not having those personal conversations with him and putting him in the forefront of your life every single day, you're going to miss out on those whispers. You're going to miss out on the things that he wants to do in your life.

-So it's so important to talk with God and make that a daily habit every single day to talk with him.

Alright, those are the five daily habits to experience spiritual growth. So if you've been struggling with growing spiritually and you just feel like you're at a standstill and you don't really know where to turn, do these five daily habits and I know these will help you with your spiritual growth and to grow so much closer to God.

I love you guys so much.

Never forget to choose faith over fear.
