Day 19- 5 Tips to Help You Lose Weight

During this weightloss journey I have been experimenting with doing things to help me lose weight and keep it off.


So I thought I’d share 5 tips that have really helped me lose weight the last couple of weeks.


1. Eat at least 4 times a day.


I’ve always heard to eat 6 times a day (3 snacks and 3 meals) but I find this very difficult when I’m working all day and forget to eat. Eating 4 times a day is much more practical for me and it may be for you too.


When you eat at least 2 snacks and 2 meals a day it helps keep your metabolism going and keeps you full throughout the day so you'll be less likely to binge eat at night like I used to.



2. Drink a bottle of water with every meal.


Drinking a bottle of water with every meal helps you to get full quicker and stay full. It also helps you eat smaller portions.


3. Walk 30 minutes at least 5 times a week.


Walking is crucial to losing weight because you get your body moving and burning those calories. Not to mention there are tons of other benefits to walking (which I’ll talk about more in depth in another blog.)


4. Eat Whole Foods.


Eating whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains will help you stay healthy because they are packed with nutrients. They also will help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.


Most processed foods are just empty calories with hardly any nutritional value, so you want to stay away from processed foods as much as possible.


5. Don’t eat after 9pm.


Now the 9pm curfew for eating may not work for you if that is when you go to bed at 9 (then you would want to not eat after 6.) I say 9pm because I usually go to bed after 12.


You want to make sure you don’t eat at least 3 hours before bed. So you can change the time according to when you go to sleep. This helps you lose weight because it takes about 3 hours to digest your dinner.




As you may know, I have lost 7.2 lbs in the past two weeks (with some cheat days.) I haven‘t been making major changes but I have been implementing these things and they have really helped me.
