FAITHFULNESS. 5 Ways to Practice Showing it to God-Revealing the Fruit of the Spirit in Our Hearts

Today's episode is all about faithfulness and asking God to reveal it in our hearts. I will be pairing this with prayer, scripture, and 5 ways to practice showing faithfulness to God.

This episode is number 7 of 9 episodes about the fruit of the Spirit. In the first six episodes we went over love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and goodness. If you haven't checked out those episodes, go check them out first and come back to this because all of these episodes are going to go hand in hand with the fruit of the Spirit. To really take this journey of transformation with me, you need to make sure you check out each episode and do the reflection on each episode. I know that if you take this journey with me to really dive deep and reveal the fruit of the Spirit in our hearts, that it can and will transform your heart.

Before we get into this episode completely, I want to pray and ask God to reveal faithfulness in our hearts... Lord I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. I pray that you reveal faithfulness in our hearts and that you open up our eyes to see the truth of your words. I pray that you open up our mind, our ears, and our hearts to you Lord. I pray in every aspect of our life that we seek to be faithful to you and to show our faithfulness and that others are able to see our faithfulness to you also. I love you so much Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Okay, first I want to go over the definition of faithfulness in the biblical sense: trust, loyalty ,and submitting our ways to God. So in all that we do, we want to make sure that we are submitting our ways to the will of God, being faithful to his will, and the calling that he's placed on our hearts.

Now that we have asked God to reveal faithfulness in our hearts and we have the definition of faithfulness, lets get into some scripture:

"For we live by faith, not by sight."

-2 Corinthians 5: 7

This is so important to remember, because we cannot physically see God. With having faith we just have to trust in the Lord, in God's words through the Bible, through praying, and having a close relationship with Him without physically seeing Him. We just have to have faith and know that God's in complete control, even when we can't physically see any changes that God's making in our lives or ways that he is changing our life for the better, we just have to have faith in knowing that God's in complete control and that his will be done.

Another thing with site is, we can't see what God sees. We are mere humans and God is the Almighty. The things that we see in our life, that things that we think should happen in our lives, or the way we want our lives to go, may not be the best thing for us. So that's why it's important for us to have faith and know that God's in complete control and that his will will be done, because he sees everything and he knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what's best for us and exactly how our lives should go., even when we don't see it ourselves.

"Love the LORD, all his faithful people! The LORD preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord."

-Psalm 31: 23-24

It's so important for us to stay faithful to God, to what he's calling us to do, to his commands, to spreading the gospel, and all of these things. We just have to be strong, take heart, and know that our troubles aren't going to last forever. What we're going through right now in this moment isn't going to last forever, and it's so important for us to just stay faithful, keep hoping in the Lord, and keep doing the things that God has called us to do.

I have a few different episodes on being faithful and staying faithful to the calling that God has placed on your heart if you want to check those out Episode 46 is on "how to stay faithful to your God led calling after you've been distracted." Episode 29 is on "how to identify and eliminate your limiting beliefs so that you can take that leap of faith."

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."

-Proverbs 3: 3-4

So, love and faithfulness we can not let leave us. The first episode I did on the fruit of the spirit was about love, and that's why I did that one first because with all of these different things from the fruit of the Spirit, we have to have love first before we can and have anything else. If love isn't revealed in our hearts then none of these other things with the fruit of the Spirit can be revealed in our hearts.

When we're staying faithful to the things that God wants us to do, and we're reading our Bibles, praying to God, and having that close relationship with him, our faithfulness will reflect to others also. They'll be able to see our faithfulness and that can make them want to also be faithful. Also when we are staying faithful every single day, God will see that and we will win favor with him. He will continue to guide us through every aspect of our lives and give us great things because we are faithful to his calling on our lives and submitted to his will.

Here are some ways that we can practice showing our Faithfulness to God:

1. Pray

- Try and get in the habit of praying to God at least once a day. Praying is very important and crucial when you are showing your faithfulness to God.

2. Study the Bible

- If we're not studying our Bibles, seeking to know the truth of God's words, and really seeking to know how Christ wants us to live and how Christ lived on this earth, then we can't truly show faithfulness and be faithful.

- Without studying our Bible, we don't even know what faithfulness is. We don't even know how to be faithful or the things that we need to do in order to be disciples of Christ and be faithful to God's words if we don't study the Bible.

3. Spread the gospel

-If we truly believe in God, we believe in Jesus Christ, and we know that the only way to have eternal life is to accept Jesus Christ into our lives. then it's so important for us to spread the gospel and let other people know about Jesus Christ and the truth of God's words.

- A big way to show our faithfulness to God is by spreading the gospel, letting other people know about him, and the truth of his word.

4. Trust in God completely

- Throughout this whole process of having this podcast and really just strengthening my relationship with Christ, trusting in God and giving him complete control have been really big things for me to work on and to focus on

- I actually have an episode, it's episode number 37 on putting your trust in God if you want to check it out

- The next way to practice showing faithfulness to God goes hand in hand with this one:

5. Give God complete control

- Now we don't actually have to give God complete control because he already has it, but letting him know that we know he's in complete control and trusting in him completely are big ways to show our faithfulness to him.

-Whenever you're trusting him and giving him complete control, you can pray to him and let him know that you're letting go and giving him control.

- Trusting in God and giving him complete control are not things that are just going to happen automatically. These are things that you're going to have to work on every single day.

- When you do the first 3 ways to show your faithfulness: praying, studying the Bible, and spreading the gospel, the more you continually doing things, it's going to help you with trusting in the Lord and giving him complete control.

I hope this episode helped you guys and I really want you guys to focus on doing these 5 ways to show your faithfulness to God and practicing them every single day. Next week we're going to be going over gentleness so stay tuned for that.

I love you guys so much.

Never forget to choose faith over fear.
