Have you been asking the LORD for things and not getting answers?
Have you been waiting for things to get better and they just haven't?
Have you been feeling like your patience has been tested lately?
If you've said yes to any of these things, trust me I get it and I've been there.
In today's episode, I go over 5 Bible scriptures about patience.
This episode is part of a little ongoing series that I've been doing where I go over different Bible verses on a certain word each week. We've done strength, peace, joy, salvation, beauty, and wealth & prosperity so far, so if you haven't already go and check out those episodes.
First I want to say a quick prayer... Lord, I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. Please open up our hearts, our minds, our eyes, and our ears to you LORD. I pray that help us to have patience and just reveal that in our hearts LORD. Please wrap your arms around us, and whatever it is that each person is supposed to receive from this episode, they receive it and they implement it in their daily lives. I love you with every ounce of my being. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Here are 5 Bible verses about patience:
1. "I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry." -Psalm 40:1
2. "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." -2 Peter 3:9
- So sometimes we may ask the LORD for things, and we may be asking them from Him every single day, and we're just not getting the answers. This can be very frustrating. Maybe you've been asking the LORD for answers lately and you haven't been getting them. Or maybe you feel like there is something that the LORD said He would do or something that you thought He would give you that He hasn't given you. This verse here shows that the LORD is not slow in fulfilling His promises, but He's patient with us and we have to also be patient and know that His timing is perfect. His timing is not our timing. The timing that we want things to happen may not be the right time. So we just have to stay patient and know that the LORD will provide everything that He promises us, the LORD will provide everything that we need, and sometimes when He doesn't give us things that we ask for it is for our good and we just have to stay patient, wait on the LORD, and know that He has our best interest at heart.

3. "A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel." -Proverbs 15:18
- So whenever we are so quick to get angry, that is going to cause more problems. When someone is frustrating us we have to just be patient, and that's going to help calm them down because we are being patient and calm and we're not letting things get us very angry very quickly, we're not losing our cool. Trust me when I say that I get it, this is way harder said than done. At the time when someone is frustrating you or things aren't going your way, it's really easy to lose your cool, but like we see in this verse here, we have to just be patient and center ourselves, know that God's got us, He's right here with us, and nothing good comes out of us losing our cool or getting angry. We just have to stay centered, patient, and gentle with others.
4. "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." -Matthew 16:26
- Whenever you are asking things of the LORD, or maybe you just don't know what to do, or you are trying to do things on your own because you haven't gotten a clear answer from God. Or maybe you really want to do something but you haven't gotten the "Go" from God but you wanted to do it anyway, it's so important for us to wait for the LORD. A lot of times when we try to do things on our own and it's not the things that God wants us to do, that's just going to result in failure, us backsliding, and us having to pick up the pieces and do things right. So it's very important for us to just wait patiently on the LORD and know that His timing is perfect and He will give us everything that we need in His perfect timing.
5. "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." -2 Chronicles 1:11-12
- So in this verse here we see that we need to be humble, we have to humble ourselves, be gentle and patient and love one another. This may be very difficult to do, especially when our patience is being tested and we are confused, overwhelmed, and don't know what to do, this can be very difficult. But with the fruit of the Spirit, we have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, and self-control. So we can ask God to reveal that fruit in our hearts and we just have to make sure that we are portraying that fruit of the Spirit to others and staying patient and the LORD will always provide everything that we need.
I also wanted to let you know that I have another episode about patience and it goes over 3 things to implement to start practicing patience. If you've gone through this blog and are wondering how to start practicing patience, go check out that episode.
I love you guys so much.
