Jesus Christ is Our Living HOPE. 5 Uplifting Bible Verses to Always Remember and Live By





Have there been things happening in your life that are out of your control and you just don't know what to do?

In today's episode, I go over 5 Bible scriptures about hope. I dive into how we can have hope in the LORD and that Jesus Christ is our living hope.



This episode is part of a little ongoing series that I've been doing where I go over different Bible verses on a certain word each week. We've done strength, peace, and joy so far, so if you haven't already go and check out those episodes.





First I want to say a quick prayer... Lord, I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. Please open up our hearts, our minds, our eyes, and our ears to you LORD. I pray that each person reading this right now knows that they have something to be hopeful for and that their hope is in you. LORD, I pray that you just wrap your arms around them and let them know that you are right here with them no matter what and you will give them everything that they need to grow through life. I love you with every ounce of my being. In Jesus' name, Amen.






Here are 5 Bible verses about hope:


I want you to write down these verses, and whenever things go on in this world and you just start to feel down in the dumps and just feel like "what is there to be hopeful for?" I want you to go back to these verses and remember that our hope is in Jesus. We can have hope in knowing that we have eternal life in heaven with Jesus and God the Father when we are saved by Jesus and no one can take that inheritance from us.



1. “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

-Lamentations 3:21-23


- In the verses before this, the Prophet Jeremiah, which is who wrote the book of Lamentations, was talking about remembering his affliction and how his soul was downcast because of all the different things that had happened, but he had hope because of the LORD's great love they were not consumed. No matter what happens in our life, no matter what hardships we face, and the different things that are going on, we can have hope in the LORD, know that He has a great love for us, His mercies never fail, and they are new every morning.


- Even though right now it may seem like you have nothing to be hopeful for and you are just kind of feeling this feeling of hopelessness and there are just so many things going on, we can have hope in knowing that the LORD has compassion on us and His mercies are new every day. As children of God He has a great love for us and our hope is in Him. Nothing in this world, not even death, can overcome us because Jesus Christ has overcome the world. As Christians and believers of Jesus, whenever we die we go to heaven with Him and God the Father. So we can put our hope and trust in the LORD and know that God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten son to die on the cross to forgive us of our sins.






2. "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures and the encouragement we might have hope."

-Romans 15:4


- All throughout the Old Testament we can just see so much hopelessness, destruction, and chaos because of the sin of Israel, the sin of God's people, and how they rejected God. There was also a lot of endurance of the prophets and other believers and people that had trust in God and God always fulfilled His promises. God always came through for them and He sent His only Son to die on the cross to forgive us of our sins.


- Our hope is in Jesus. Jesus Christ is our Savior. He redeems us. When we are saved by Him we have eternal life in heaven. So all of the things in the Old Testament were written to teach us that through endurance and encouragement of the scriptures, we might have hope in Jesus Christ. Jesus is our hope. As Christians, and this may be easier said than done because there are going to be a lot of different hardships and things in this world that may make us feel a little hopeless, we know as believers of Jesus Christ that we should never be hopeless because our hope is in Jesus. Nothing in this world can ever overcome us because Jesus has already overcome the world and we have eternal life in heaven with Him and God the Father.

3. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade-- kept in heaven for you," -1 Peter 1:3-4


- Jesus Christ is our living hope. We are dead in our sins and alive in Jesus. Whenever we are saved by Jesus Christ we have an inheritance in heaven with Jesus and God the Father and that can never perish, spoil, or fade. We have that living hope forever within us because Jesus Christ is in us whenever we are saved by Him. So anytime you are feeling hopeless or you just feel like there are so many things going on beyond your control and you don't know what to do, you can rest in knowing that we have a living hope, and that is Jesus Christ. We can pray and rest in Jesus, rest in His presence, and we can have hope in knowing that no matter what happens in this world it can never take away the fact that we have an inheritance in heaven with Jesus and God the Father.






4. "I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe." -Ephesians 1:18-19


- Again here we see that we have a glorious inheritance as believers of Jesus Christ and that inheritance is in heaven with Jesus and God the Father. This world is full of chaos and destruction and we are going to face a lot of hard times in this world, but it's only our temporary home, our true home is in heaven, and we can have hope in knowing that.






5. "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." -Psalm 62:5-6

- So here in this verse we see that our hope comes from God and He is our Rock and our salvation. I wanted to use this as the last verse of this blog because it leads me to our next word which is salvation.






I hope this episode helped you to know that we have a living hope, and that is Jesus Christ. We can have hope in knowing that we have an inheritance in heaven with Jesus and God the Father once we are saved by Jesus and there is nothing that can take that away from us. No matter what we go through in this life, no matter what hardships we face, or devastation, or just no matter what happens in this world, it can never take away the fact that we have an inheritance in heaven with Jesus and God the Father. Jesus has already overcome the world. We can put our hope and trust in God and know that He's got us no matter what.




Next week we are going to be going into all of the different things about salvation. So I am going to be giving different Bible verses, but I'm also going to be diving deep into a few things about salvation to really help with any questions that anyone may have about salvation.
