Judgment, Condemnation, and Forgiveness. Devotionals in "Christ Transforms Me." Day 30 of 90.

In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 30 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 60 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.

Day 30 Scripture:

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." -Luke 6:37

Day 30 Devotional:

"We as humans should never judge each other. The Lord our Savior is the only one that should be judging us. God loved us so much that He gave His only Son to die on the cross for our sins and whoever believes in Him shall have eternal life. If Jesus Christ can forgive us, as sinners, we should be able to forgive those who have wronged us. Matthew 7:12 says, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the prophets." That's exactly how we should look at everything in life. If we wouldn't want it done to us, then why would we do it to someone else?"

Now with this devotional, not judging others does not mean accepting everything people do, especially when we know it's not right. We should always spread light in a loving way to people and let them know what is right and what is wrong. Some people may not even realize that what they are doing is wrong.

Now I want us to read 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 real quick:

"What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. 'Expel the wicked person from among you.' ” -1 Corinthians 5:12-13

If you have some time to read all of Chapter 5 I highly recommend it to get more context. Basically, we do have a right to judge other Christians and let them know whenever they are doing things that they are not supposed to do. Just like we should want other people to hold us accountable in the church. We should have a community of people to hold us accountable and let us know "Hey, this is not the best thing for you to do." That type of judgment is loving. That is us just wanting each other to want the best and knowing that whenever we follow Jesus we are held to a higher standard, a standard that is not of this world. It is important to make sure that, in a loving and concerning way, we are letting other people know when they are doing things that they shouldn't be doing. That doesn't mean to judge or condemn them and we shouldn't be holding on to resentment or unforgiveness. Jesus Christ freely forgives us whenever we ask Him to come into our hearts and we repent. So who are we to hold on to unforgiveness or try to condemn someone else or look down upon others?

I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:

To Purchase women's journal click here To Purchase neutral journal click here

So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.

Today’s Prayer:

"Lord thank You for everything that You've done for my family and me. Please open up my heart to Your love and for me to show love to others. I know that You are the only one that has the authority to judge. Humble me Lord and help me to see others the way that you do. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Today's journal entry is a free write:

Write down whatever comes to your mind.

"Do to others as you would have them do to you." -Luke 6:31

So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day 31, so make sure you stay tuned for that.

I love you guys so much.
