Prioritizing Jesus Christ In Your Busy Life. 3 Things to Implement

Have you been struggling with trying to figure out how to prioritize Jesus in your busy schedule?

Can you feel yourself straying away from Christ, but you've just been too busy to even think about it?

Trust me... I've been there.

Having a relationship with Christ and spreading the gospel are the most important things, but with having a busy lifestyle sometimes the important things can get pushed to the side. That's why today I really wanted to talk about how to prioritize Jesus in your daily life and having unnegotiable times with Christ every single day. I pair this with prayer, scripture, and 3 steps to implement.

First I want to say a quick prayer.... Lord I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. I pray that you open up our eyes to see the truth of your words. I pray that we take the time out of our busy schedule to prioritize you Jesus in our daily lives and to recognize that having a close relationship with you, worshiping you, being thankful and grateful is so important, and that we have to make time for you to cultivate that relationship with you. I pray Lord that you speak truth over our lives and that you guide us, lead us, and direct us through every aspect of our lives. I love you with my whole heart. Jesus, it's in your name that I pray, Amen.

Let's get into some scripture:

"Through him, all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." -John 1:3

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'" -John 8:12

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6

So in these verses we see that through Jesus Christ all things were made and without him nothing was made that has been made. So Jesus came unto the earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins to forgive us of our sins, and whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. We have a new life in Jesus Christ when we're saved and we ask him to come into our heart, and whenever it's our time to go we'll be going to heaven with him and with God the Father. There is no other way to God the Father except through Jesus Christ. So with all that being said, it's so important for us to prioritize Jesus. Having a relationship with Jesus, spreading the gospel, and letting other people know about him so that they may be saved also are the most important things. We can get so wrapped up in the worldly things, our busy schedules, or just everyday life that we can forget about the most important thing, which is having a relationship with Christ and prioritizing him.

I spent years and years knowing about God, knowing about Jesus, but not making Jesus my priority at all. I was so worried about the hustle and bustle of life and trying to make it to be a millionaire. I had all of these worldly goals and I wanted to do all of this stuff, but I never incorporated God or Jesus into that. I never made it a point to talk to God, pray, and study the Bible to know exactly what God had planned for my life and what I should be doing according to Jesus Christ. Throughout the past couple of years, especially throughout the past year or so, I have really been trying to make it a point every single day to prioritize Jesus. I have unnegotiable times every morning to study my Bible, to journal, to pray, and to really keep that close relationship with Christ.

When you prioritize Jesus in your daily life you will notice a big difference with your peace, patience, perspective, and you'll just see things in a new light. I started really making a negotiable times to study my Bible first thing in the morning, because I noticed that whenever I woke up and I was just picking up my phone straight away and not studying my Bible that I was more irritable and on edge. On the days where I would pull out my Bible, pray, and journal I had a lot more peace and it just really set the tone for the day. Setting unnegotiable time for Christ, having that relationship with him, and learning the truth of his words are so important.

Here are 3 things to implement to help you when prioritizing Jesus in your busy life:

1. Plan out your days and weeks

-This goes hand in hand with number 2 which is....

2. Schedule unnegotiable times with Christ

-When you're doing your planning, you want to make sure that you schedule unnegotiable times with Christ.

-I know that if you have a busy schedule, you might not have much time to be able to schedule for anything other than the things that you have to do.

-When you're planning out your days, first and foremost, you want to make sure that everything in your plan that's unnegotiable is very important and it's things that can not be changed.

-Scheduling time with Christ cannot be changed and is unnegotiable so that has to be on the top of your priority when you're making the plans for your days.

3. Fill your pockets with Christ

-I actually got this term from Holly Furtick when I was watching one of her sermons at Elevation church.

-If you don't know about Elevation church go check them out on YouTube. They have powerful church sermons and they have live services every Sunday.

-So during those busy days where you just have a few minutes, a little pocket of time, maybe you're driving to work or wherever you need to go and you just have a little bit of downtime in between the things that you need to get done, you can fill those pockets of time with Christ.

-During that time you can watch a sermon, listen to a faith-based podcast, or use the Bible app. I like to use the YouVersion Holy Bible app because there are different plans that you can do, they have the verse of the day, and you can have the Bible read to you from that app.

If you do these 3 things: you plan out your days, schedule unnegotiable times with Christ, and fill your pockets with Christ whenever you have any free time, then you will notice such a big difference. You will start to see that you have more peace, patience, you'll start seeing things in a new light, and the truth will be uncovered to you through the words of Jesus Christ and through the words of God the Father that are in the Bible.

I also have two other episodes that will help you with growing closer to Christ and with experiencing spiritual growth. I have an episode on five daily habits to grow closer to Christ, that's episode number 52. Then I have a spiritual growth episode, and that's episode number 78. So go check those out to get some more steps and more information on how to grow closer to Christ and experiencing that spiritual growth, because that is so important. As Christians, as disciples of Christ, we have to seek to have as close of a relationship with Christ as possible, to always grow spiritually, and to let the Holy spirit guide us and show us truth. We cannot let the worldly things and our worldly goals and desires get in the way of our relationship with Christ and of our God led calling.

So I hope this episode helped you if you have been struggling with balance and with trying to figure out how to prioritize Jesus in your busy schedule. Or maybe you've just gotten so caught up, you can feel yourself straying away from Jesus, and you can feel that your relationship isn't as close to him as it should be. Hopefully this helped you guys to be able to prioritize him in your daily life, to schedule unnegotiable times with him, and make it a appoint every day to have as much time as you can to spend that on cultivating a relationship with Christ and prioritizing him in your daily life.

I love you guys so much.
