Should We Seek God First Before Anything Else? Daily Devotionals in "Christ Transforms Me." Day 2 of 90.

In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 2 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 89 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.

Day 2 Scripture:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

-Matthew 6:33

Day 2 Devotional:

"In the world that we live in today, it can be so easy to get caught up in materialistic things. As Christians, we shouldn't worry about what we will eat, drink, or wear. All of the materialistic and temporary things in this world do not matter and we will not be able to take temporary things with us to our true home in heaven. The Lord knows what we need and He will provide for us. The most important thing in our lives should always be to seek God's glory and have the closest relationship with Him as possible. Everything that we need will be given to us if we just seek the Lord and stay faithful and obedient."

So like this devotional says, we can get so caught up in the materialistic things, the things of this world, and seeing what people on social media have and do and just wanting more and always seeking that temporary materialistic stuff. But like this scripture says, we have to first seek God's kingdom and his righteousness, then everything we need will be given to us. This doesn't mean that we're going to have any materialistic thing that we want in this world because that stuff doesn't matter. What this means is God will always provide and give us everything that we need. We just have to make sure we're constantly seeking Him, we're seeking His kingdom and His righteousness, spreading the gospel letting other people know about him, and seeking that close relationship with Him. Then whatever we need will be provided for us, and we won't have to worry about always wanting more because we'll have that true fulfillment that we can only get through Christ Jesus.

I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:

To Purchase women's journal click here To Purchase neutral journal click here

So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.

Today’s Prayer:

"Lord, I pray that You open up my eyes to see the truth of your words. I pray that You open my heart, my mind, and my soul to You. Lord, teach me to seek You first in every aspect of my life. Please lead, guide, and direct me every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

The questions for today:

What have I been dwelling on lately?

What’s truly important in my life?

What does scripture say about the things that I’m dwelling on?

Based on scripture, what should I be focusing on?

So take a few minutes to answer each of these questions honestly and really just reflect on these questions

"He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." -Proverbs 21:21

So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day three, so make sure you stay tuned for that.

I love you guys so much.
