The Importance of Submitting Ourselves to God. Daily Devotionals in "Christ Transforms Me." Day 55 of 90

In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 55 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 35 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.

Day 55 Scripture:

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." -James 4:7

Day 55 Devotional:

"The world that we live in today is so full of evil and corruption and it's so important for us to not get caught up in this world. In the verses above this one, it says that "anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God." This world is our temporary home and as Christians, we know that our true home is in heaven. We cannot love this world and also love God. We have to fully submit ourselves to God and His will. God will give us the strength and courage to resist temptation and the devil. When we have God by our side, nothing can ever overcome us. We just have to come near to God, pray to Him, submit to Him, and let the Holy Spirit guide us through every aspect of our lives."

So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.

Today’s Prayer:

"Dear heavenly Father, I seek to always be fully submitted to Your will. I know that this world is my temporary home and my true home is in heaven with You and Jesus. Please give me the strength and courage to resist temptation and all the evil in this world. I love You with my whole heart Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Today's journal questions:

Have I been fully submitted to the will of God? Why or why not?

What are some things that I can do to resist the devil?

What are some ways that I can submit to God and His will?

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
