In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 51 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 39 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.
Day 51 Scripture:
“No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." -Luke 16:13
Day 51 Devotional:
"In the world that we live in today, it can be easy to get caught up in the love of money if we don't stand firm in our faith and stay close to the Lord. There are so many great things that we can do with money, but we have to make sure that we are not letting money control us. If we are constantly living our life to find ways to make more money and have more things then we are putting money first, even when we don't realize it. It's so important for us to constantly seek the Lord and a relationship with Christ, and He will provide for us everything that we need."
So I know we have some days of verses like this about money, not being conformed to this world and materialistic things, and not having a love for money. The reason why it is in several of these days is because it's so important and it's emphasized so much in the Bible, just like we see in this verse and the other verses that we've read. It's so important for us to not be conformed to the world, and it's so important for us to not have money as our focus in life. This world is just our temporary home and our true home is in heaven. We can't take money and materialistic things with us to our true home in heaven. Our purpose in this world is to let other people know about Jesus Christ, to be disciples of Jesus, and to spread the gospel in hopes that they may be saved also. Money can be used for good, but there are also a lot of bad things that can be done with money. If you put money to too high of a standard it can cause greediness, selfishness, pride, selfish ambition, all of the things that can get out of control and are not good. It is so important for us to humble ourselves and focus on Jesus Christ and seek Him and His kingdom first and He will provide everything we need. We don't need to put too much emphasis on money or always try to think of ways to save and have money. It is good to be financially stable and put things into practice, but we have to make sure that we are putting God first above everything and everything that we need will be given to us from the LORD.
I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:
So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.
Today’s Prayer:
"Lord, I know that You are the most important thing in my life and I seek to always put You first no matter what. Thank You for your unconditional love and for providing me with everything that I need. I love You with my whole heart Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
Today's journal entry is a free write:
Write down whatever comes to your mind.
"He said to them, 'You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight.' " -Luke 16:15
So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day 52, so make sure you stay tuned for that.
