In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 15 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 75 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.
Day 15 Scripture:
Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment."
-Matthew 22:37-38
Day 15 Devotional:
"This is what Jesus said when one of the Pharisees was testing Him with the question of what the greatest commandment in the Law is. The scripture that this commandment is from is Deuteronomy 6:5. God is our Creator and He should always be most important in our lives. In order to have a full and abundant life and be able to make an impact in other people's lives, we have to first love the Lord our God with every ounce of our being. Then and only then can we truly show love to others and serve others as Jesus has commanded us to do."
So above anything else, we can see here that the first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, all of our soul, and all of our mind. Then and only then can we love others as ourselves. We have to always put God first no matter what and love Him and posture our hearts towards Him. That is why I did the series about the heart and making sure that we are posturing our hearts towards God before we can show love to others and to ourselves. Before we can do anything, we have to make sure that we have the right heart posture and it's towards God.
I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:
So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.
Today’s Prayer:
"Dear Heavenly Father, You are my Creator and the most important thing in my life. Thank You for everything that You have done for me. Please open up my heart to see the love that You have for me and to love You with every ounce of my being. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
Today's journal entry is a free write:
Write down whatever comes to your mind.
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." -Deuteronomy 6:5
So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day sixteen, so make sure you stay tuned for that.
I love you guys so much.
