Why Does Jesus Christ Call Sinners to Be His Disciples? Daily Devotionals in "Christ Transforms Me." Day 26 of 90.

In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 26 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 64 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.

Day 26 Scripture:

"On hearing this, Jesus said to them, 'It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." -Mark 2:17

Day 26 Devotional:

"This is what Jesus said when He heard the teachers of the law asking his disciples why He eats with tax collectors and 'sinners.' In the verses before this Jesus had told Levi, a tax collector, to follow Him, and then Levi had got up and followed Him. Then Jesus was eating at Levi's house with many tax collectors and "sinners" who followed him. If someone is already righteous then they don't need to be saved. We, as humans, are all sinners and all need Jesus Christ. Jesus didn't come on the earth to only associate with people of high status; He was on a mission to save lives. Jesus calls "sinners" to be His disciples and to spread the gospel, and He welcomes anyone that wants to follow Him and learn from Him."

So we can see all throughout the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, where Jesus associates himself with sinners. If you look at his 12 disciples, these were a group of guys that didn't have the best track record and Jesus chose them to be his disciples and to follow Him. Jesus wants to save every single person, there is not one person in this world that Jesus cannot save. Whenever we ask Jesus to come into our hearts and forgive us of our sins and we truly believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and that He is the only way into heaven, He will save us and forgive us of our sins.

Jesus walked on this earth to save sinners. He walked on this earth and had a mission to die on the cross for our sins. He associated with people of all kinds. If we could save ourselves and everybody was righteous in this world, we wouldn't need Jesus. We wouldn't have needed Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. It is in our human nature that we are all sinners, so Christ calls all of us to follow Him and He wants all of us to be saved by Him and have eternal life in heaven with Him and God the Father.

I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:

To Purchase women's journal click here To Purchase neutral journal click here

So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.

Today’s Prayer:

"Thank You Jesus for choosing me, as a sinner, to follow You and be Your disciple. Thank You for loving me and never judging me. Please teach me Your ways and guide me through every aspect of my life. I love You with my whole heart. Jesus, it's in Your name that I pray, Amen."

Today's journal question:

Why does Jesus Christ call "sinners" to be His disciples and spread the gospel?

Take some time to journal and reflect

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9

So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day 27, so make sure you stay tuned for that.

I love you guys so much.

Never forget to choose faith over fear.
