Why Should We Humble Ourselves? Daily Devotionals in "Christ Transforms Me." Day 16 of 90.

In today's episode, we will dive into the devotional for day 16 of my journal Christ Transforms Me. This is a 90-day journal filled with daily devotionals, scripture, prayer, and gratitude. I first published this journal in January of 2022 when God had put it on my heart to create this journal. Throughout a year of praying, reflecting, and letting God and the Holy Spirit give me all the words, scriptures, and everything for this journal, I published it in January 2022. So each day for the next 74 days, I will post an episode on here going over this journal.

Day 16 Scripture:

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

-1 Peter 5:6-7

Day 16 Devotional:

"I'm sure you've heard this scripture (1 Peter 5:7) many times, but a lot of people forget about verse 6. Before we can cast our anxiety on Him, first we have to humble ourselves under God's mighty hand. We have to recognize that God is greater than all of our fears, anxiety, doubts, worries, etc. Us trying to control everything on our own and thinking that we can handle it alone will only lead to more hardships. We are not meant to handle things are on our own. God is right here waiting for us to humble ourselves and give it all to Him. We have let God know that we know that He is in complete control and He will help us through whatever struggles we are facing in His perfect timing."

So, in the time's where we are having anxiety or things are just going on and we don't know what to do or where to go to, we have to humble ourselves under God's mighty hand and cast all of our anxiety on Him. We have to let them all go, give them all to Him, and He will take care of us. He cares for us, He loves us. Just like it says in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and self-discipline." So, when we try to do things on our own and everything feels like it's falling apart around us, we have to make sure that we are humbling ourselves under His mighty hand and letting Him know that we can't do this by ourselves and that we need Him. God is in complete control, and we know that we can trust in Him because He cares for us. Things might not happen on our time because God's timing is not our timing, but His timing is perfect. The way that we view time is not the same way that God does, so we just have to humble ourselves, cast it all on Him, and He will take care of us in His perfect timing.

I do have this journal available for purchase on Amazon if you want to go and grab one:

To Purchase women's journal click here To Purchase neutral journal click here

So if you want to grab one of these journals and go along with me each day with the journal physically in your hands, then go ahead and do that. Otherwise, you can just pull up the notes on your phone, or you can get a notebook, loose-leaf paper, or a binder, however you want to do it. I want you to just take a few minutes and write down things that you are thankful for and then also write down some prayer requests.

Today’s Prayer:

"Dear Heavenly Father, You are greater than all of my fears, anxiety, doubts, worries, all of it. I know that You will help me get through the struggles that I'm facing in Your perfect timing. I'm done trying to handle it all on my own. I give it all to You God. I love You with my whole heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Today's journal questions:

What battle am I facing right now?

Based on scripture, should I be fighting my battles on my own?

Take some time to pray and give it all to God. Then journal your thoughts

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." -Isaiah 41:10

So that is it for today's episode. I will be back tomorrow for day seventeen, so make sure you stay tuned for that.

I love you guys so much.

Never forget to choose faith over fear.
