GROWING with the WEEDS. REST in the Teachings of Jesus Christ. Part 4

This episode is on a teaching of Jesus Christ about growing with the weeds and how the kingdom of heaven is like a man that sowed good seed in his field but the enemy sowed weeds among the wheat while everyone was sleeping. I pair this with scripture, prayer, and 4 takeaways

Today's Episode is part 4 of our ongoing series on resting in the teachings of Jesus Christ. In part 1 I went over what Jesus says about judging others. Part 2 was the parable of the good Samaritan. Part 3 was about salt and light. Now in part 4 we're going to be going over the parable of the weeds.

First I want to say a prayer... Lord I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. I pray that you give us knowledge and understanding to know exactly what it is that we're reading and the wisdom to implement it in our daily lives. Lord please open up our eyes, our ears, our mind, and our heart to you. I pray that whatever it is that we're supposed to be getting out of this teaching, that it is revealed to us and we're able to take it, implement it in our daily lives, and live by it. Lord I can't thank you enough for every single thing that you've done and I'm just so grateful and thankful for you for allowing me to make an impact in other people's lives. I love you with my whole heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Here are the Bible verses on the parable of the weeds:

24 Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, the enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

27 "The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'

28 " 'An enemy did this,' he replied.

"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'

29 " 'No,' he answered, 'because while you were pulling up the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' " -Matthew 13:24-30

Alright, so that's the parable of the weeds. Now I'm going to put the Bible verses on the explanation of the parable of the weeds:

36 Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."

37 He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, 39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

40 "As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear." -Matthew 13: 36-43

So in all of these verses here Jesus is telling these people about the kingdom of heaven and how it's like a man who sowed good seed in his field. The man who sowed good seed is the Son of Man, which we know the Son of Man is Jesus Christ. So Jesus Christ sows good seed. He walked on this earth, he lived a sinless life, he performed miraculous signs, he had his 12 disciples, he taught thousands and thousands of people at synagogues and wherever he went, he healed the broken and the wounded, he gained many believers while he was on this earth and still many people are believing in him through his disciples, other Christians, and people spreading the gospel. So Jesus Christ has sown the good seed and the good seed is sons and daughters of the kingdom. So anyone that believes in Jesus Christ and has eternal life in heaven, we are the good seed. The field is the world. So Jesus came on the earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to forgive us of our sins, and whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life in heaven. There are a lot of people that believe in Jesus Christ, but there's also a lot of people that do not believe in Jesus Christ because the devil, the enemy, has sowed weeds among the wheat. Among the good people the devil has sown or planted evil people, people that have wickedness in their heart, stubbornness, and that follow the ways of the devil and not the ways of the Lord. These people give into their worldly desires and their flesh and don't walk in the ways of the Lord and don't believe in Jesus Christ,

God the Father (our creator), the owner of the field, and the owner of the world, he allows the weeds or the evil ones to be in this world. He doesn't want to take them out of the world until the end of the time because if the evil ones are pulled up than some of the good people, the believers of Jesus Christ, may be pulled up with them. So both us as believers of Jesus Christ and wicked people, people that don't believe in Jesus, people that follow the ways of the world and of the devil, we grow together and we have to live in this world. We know this world is our temporary home and it's important for us as believers of Jesus Christ to spread the gospel and to let as many people as we possibly can know about Jesus Christ, how amazing he is, and how he's changed our lives. But there's going to be people that are not going to accept us and that are not going to listen to us no matter what, because they have evil in their hearts, they're full of wickedness, and they belong to the enemy the devil. They don't belong to Jesus Christ and they're never going to believe in him or listen to anything that us as believers of Jesus Christ and as his disciples have to say to them.

So the harvest is at the end of time and you can learn more about the end of time in the book of Revelation. I'm not going to go into the book of Revelation and all of that because it's something that we ourselves have to study and get discernment from the Holy Spirit and from God. In verse 31 when he says, "let them both grow together until the harvest," he's talking about us as believers of Jesus Christ and the people of this world that belong to the enemy and that don't believe in Jesus. We're going to grow together until the end of time until Jesus comes back for his people. At that time, at the end of the time, before Jesus comes back for his people, the angels are going to come and get all the evil people and put them in the fiery furnace of hell. Then the righteous, the believers of Jesus Christ, we will be gathered up and go to our true home in heaven in the kingdom of our Father (which is God the father.) So this parable is so important for us to really know and understand.

Here's a few takeaways from this teaching:

Pull out a piece of paper and a pen, put these in the notes in your phone, or however you want to do it. But here's some takeaways that I want you guys to write down and really remember

1. We as disciples of Jesus Christ are the good seed

- As the good seed we have to go out and spread the gospel, testify about Jesus Christ, let other people know about him and how he's changed our lives, and spread love and light and the gospel, and we can't let anything get in the way of that.

- There are going to be weeds in the field with us, but we can't let those weeds get in the way of us finding other good seed and telling people about Jesus.

2. Jesus Christ is our Savior

- He died on the cross to forgive us of our sins, he rose three days later, and whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life in heaven.

3. This field, or this world, is our temporary home

- Our true home is in heaven.

- Whenever the harvesters come (when the angels come,) and Jesus comes back, then we will go to our true home in the kingdom of our Father (God the Father), and with Jesus Christ our Savior,

4. We have to grow with the weeds

-We as believers of Jesus Christ and as disciples of Jesus Christ are going to face hardships.

-We are in a field (in a world) full of weeds, full of evil people, full of lies, deception, and trickery, but we have to stand firm in our faith, be obedient to Christ, and grow in this field.

-We have to stay in this world with evil people, but not give in to the wicked ways of the world and not let their evil hearts and their stubbornness change our ways and change our hearts.

-This is one reason why it's so important for us to always pray, study the Bible, and really study and learn these teachings of Jesus Christ and live by them, and seek every single day to have as close of a relationship to Christ as possible.

So I hope this episode helped you guys to really understand the teaching of this parable and to be able to implement the things that you've learned today in your daily life.

I love you guys so much.
